Why does the sky/horizon look red during sunrise and sunset?

The sky appears red during sunrise and sunset due to Rayleigh Scattering. When the sun is low on the horizon, sunlight travels through more atmosphere. Blue light gets scattered away, while red light (which has longer wavelength) passes through and reaches our eyes, making the sky appear red or orange.

सूर्योदय और सूर्यास्त के समय आकाश लाल रेले प्रकीर्णन (Rayleigh Scattering) के कारण लाल दिखाई देता है। जब सूरज क्षितिज पर नीचे होता है, तो सूर्य का प्रकाश अधिक वायुमंडल से होकर गुजरता है। नीली रोशनी बिखर जाती है, जबकि लाल रोशनी (जिसकी तरंग दैर्ध्य अधिक होती है) गुजर जाती है और हमारी आंखों तक पहुंचती है, जिससे आकाश लाल या नारंगी दिखाई देता है।
